I'm sick of Lindsey Lohan and the fingernail!
Jul 31 10 - It was movie night
It was a toss up between Salt and The Sorcerer's Apprentice and I chose the later. I like Nicholas Cage plus it just looked like it might be my kind of movie. The Apprentice though...he was weird. Of course, I suppose he was meant to be weird and that's why that particular actor, Jay Baruchel, was chosen to play the part of Dave but I can think of a dozen actors I'd rather have seen. Loved Alfred Molina (Doc Ock) as Maxim. The Veronica character apparently was just there to give Balthazar a reason to look sad-eyed occasionally.
You know it's a hard thing to realize that you have once again failed in a relationship. Especially when it is the one you were to have finally gotten right this time. It would be so much easier if I never had to hear him again, never had to deal with his craziness, didn't have to somehow disentangle our lives. I feel like I'm on some horrible nightmare ride of a roller coaster and nobody will let me off.
So it turns out I was passed over for extra working hours (which equals extra money) for a woman who has been with us 7 months. I could see that she was sucking up to everybody. Heck, she seemed like a nice lady, great sense of humor. Turns out the reason her work was never done was because she was doing all these extra favors for the higher-ups. Office "politics" suck. I do my job and I do it well. I don't mind at all helping somebody else. But I seem to be missing whatever that is that lets you happily kiss somebody's ass so you can receive job opportunities that are undeserved.
Don't you hate it when you watch most of a movie and then fall asleep before it's over with? Last night I was watching Nora Roberts' Midnight Bayou on Lifetime or something similar. I'm not sure how I got stuck on watching it since it's not really my kind of movie. The accents were too Southern, all the storyline agonizingly familiar, but I watched just enough to get hooked and want to see how it ended. It's based on one of Nora Roberts' books so I suppose I could look for it the next time I go to the library.

Speaking of movies, my sister and I recently saw Knowing, which is the new movie with Nicholas Cage and Rose Byrne. Rose Byrne, by the way, was Padme's handmaiden, Dorme, in Attack of the Clones. I always get a kick out of seeing actors from Star Wars elsewhere. Anyway, my sister and I have different views of the end. I see it one way and she sees it another. I liked the movie though and wouldn't mind seeing it again.

I'd like to just stay around and rest all day but after services I have a short meeting to go to. The bad part is it'll take almost an hour's travelling time which throws a kink into a chunk of the afternoon.
Jun 24 07 - I'm melting....
Now I love summer, hot weather usually doesn't bother me but six straight days of right at 100 gets old fast. Especially when there's a lot of outside activity going on.

My newly minted walking schedule has fizzled out. I should have started back in the winter or early spring at least and then I'd be accustomed more to the heat. I don't understand how I can be healthy in some ways and the complete opposite in others.

We're suppose to go to see a movie this weekend. I have no clue what's playing. Weird. I once knew every new movie that came out and probably saw half of them.

Happy birthday Grandma! Not that she'll ever see this post but it seemed necessary to say it anyway. I sent her a card but I need to go see her. She can't hear anything on the phone anymore so I rarely call, it worries her cause she'll think it's an emergency and then can't hear what we say.
